S.T.E.A.M. Education and Careers - Have you Chosen Yours?

S.T.E.A.M. Careers

S.T.E.A.M. education and careers build upon traditional STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education and integrate ART e.g. humanities, dance, language arts, music, drama, and new media – all of value in today’s marketplace and emerging careers.

Maddie’s career ambition is to be an eco-fashion designer and join with other environmentally concerned entrepreneurs and corporations to produce upcycled fashion for teens, adults, and fashion runways.

Jojo aspires to be a chef incorporating his interests in cross-cultural relations, food security and fair trade.

Victor’s interests and perhaps future career relates to the use of words and images in storytelling and journalism.

What’s your S.T.E.A.M. career interest?

If your looking to find a career path to pursue consider your current interests. Did you know persons who feel most rewarded in their future career / work life are doing something related to what they loved to do when they were young. Sadly, most people unhappy with their career choice or work life are in a job that pays the bills.

Is there a career opportunity in your current interests?

Maddie, like Victor began her career path as a hobby. When she was gifted with a sewing machine she further developed her passion for fashion. Victor’s hobby came as a result of tragic loss but using video, photography and writing has helped me face the trauma and enjoy capturing stories to share with his grandmother and others. Jojo’s work future seemed destined as his parents own a cacao plantation in Ghana and always needed his help. He thought he’d work on the plantation but once he started making lunches for the workers he decided he wanted to cook more and as his knowledge and skills developed he began exploring how to incorporate his interest in culture and passion for food for all into a career path.
